Overview
At OGCS Global, we consult for clients in delivering their complex infrastructure developments. We are looking for specialists to help support our clients with large-scale data center capital programs.
Candidates are invited to apply for the role of Project Controls Manager, based in Denver, CO, to join our team.
This role sits at the center of successful capital project delivery where cost, schedule, risk, and execution disciplines intersect.
What’s the Opportunity?
As a Project Control Manager, your role is central to ensuring successful governance, oversight, and performance management of large-scale Data Center capital programs.
You will lead and build a team of project control professionals, guiding their efforts in achieving project control objectives while acting as the Client’s representative to ensure EPC contractors, and partners deliver to approved cost, schedule, scope, and quality baselines.
You will establish and maintain robust project control systems to optimize project performance, manage costs, schedules, risks, and provide essential insights for project decision-makers across fast-track, multi-package, and concurrently executed Data Center projects.
Key Responsibilities
Build and Lead a High-Performing Project Controls Function
You’ll lead and mentor a team of project controls professionals, setting high standards of accuracy, collaboration, and accountability.
As the client-facing focal point for project controls, you’ll interface directly with development, construction, finance, operations, commissioning, and IT stakeholders – ensuring cost and schedule discipline is fully aligned with operational readiness milestones.
Own Estimating Strategy for Major Data Center Developments
You’ll develop and refine detailed cost estimates covering labor, materials, equipment, and specialized infrastructure typical of mission-critical environments.
Working closely with internal stakeholders, you’ll produce capital projections and will review and challenge EPC contractor estimates and change pricing to protect commercial interests.
Establish Program-Wide Planning Standards
You’ll collaborate with project management teams to build fully integrated project plans, aligning scope, schedule, budget, and resource allocation across complex builds.
Beyond individual projects, you’ll define the project control standards, procedures, and governance framework that ensure consistency across an expanding portfolio.
Drive Schedule Certainty Around Critical Milestones
You’ll develop, maintain, and analyze integrated project schedules, identifying critical path risks before they impact delivery. With a sharp focus on key data center milestones (including Mechanical Completion, Energization, Substantial Completion, and Ready for Service) you’ll ensure program timelines are realistic and controlled.
Deliver Financial Control and Forecasting Discipline
You’ll manage project budgets with precision, tracking commitments, monitoring multi-package expenditures, validating contractor applications for payment, and identifying cost trends early.
Through robust forecasting and variance analysis, you’ll provide leadership with clear financial visibility and proactive recommendations that protect capital without compromising quality or schedule.
Proactively Manage Risk
You’ll handle delivery risks common in this niche: long-lead equipment delivery, complex utility interfaces, supply chain volatility, and commissioning complexity.
You’ll identify and assess these risks early, implement structured mitigation strategies, and continuously monitor exposure throughout the project lifecycle. Your focus will be to reduce claims exposure and execution uncertainty.
You’ll lead structured change management processes, evaluating variations, assessing entitlement and quantum, and analyzing schedule impacts before approval.
Through disciplined documentation and commercial review, you’ll support claims avoidance and maintain contractual integrity across the program.
Translate Data into Insight
You’ll generate clear, decision-ready reporting presenting KPIs, trend analysis, and forward-looking insights to senior stakeholders. Your reporting will guide corrective action and strategic decision-making.
From schedules and budgets to risk registers and change logs, you’ll ensure project control documentation is well structured, of high integrity, and audit-ready.
What You Will Bring
Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field.
A relevant certification (e.g., Project Management Professional, Certified Cost Professional) is preferred.
Proven experience in project control, project management, and estimating within Data Center commercial construction environments.
Proficiency in project management and control software, cost estimating tools, such as Primavera, Microsoft Project, and cost management systems.
Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and comprehensive knowledge of construction cost elements, scheduling, and risk management.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration and stakeholder engagement.
Ability to adapt to a dynamic and fast-paced multi project Data Center delivery environment and respond to changing project requirements.
