OGCS Guinee SARL is a consultancy company specializing in the provision of multi-disciplined Project Management Services to the Global Mining and Energy Industry. OGCS is supporting Rio Tinto’s Simandou Iron Mine Project in Guinea, which is a key initiative within the Rio Tinto portfolio, focusing on the efficient and responsible extraction of iron ore while upholding the highest standards of safety and environmental stewardship.

Position Overview:

Candidates are invited for the role of Senior Advisor, Procurement and Contracts for the Simandou Mine Project. The role will be supporting contracting and procurement activities and the day-to-day commercial function to meet time, cost, and quality requirements at the Simandou Mine site in Guinea on a 6/3 rotation.

This is a great opportunity for a self-motivated professional to contribute through applying technical and professional knowledge to solve a range of problems whilst using largely defined procedures and solutions.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Support local and top up procurement activities in accordance with the project governance requirements.

  • Carrying out procurement and contract management post award activities in accordance with the project governance requirements.

  • Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to achieve the best long-term outcomes.

  • Contributing data into the contracts administration database.

Experience and Proficiencies:

  • Demonstrated experience in the procurement and contracts administration of service contracts (5 to 10 years).

  • Strong commercial acumen with an ability to execute the procurement agenda and create a commercial business strategy.

  • Experience of remote working in a camp environment

  • Experience of working in West Africa (preferred but not mandatory).

  • Ability to speak French or Chinese and experience with working with Chinese contractors (preferred but not mandatory).
