Overview
Our Quantity Surveying team has provided invaluable support to clients on many of the world’s largest upstream oil and gas projects. Our experts have significant in-house experience across the entire project lifecycle – from initial cost estimation and budgeting through execution to final closeout. We’re anticipating an expansion of our QS team in coming months. If you have the quantity surveying skills and experience we're looking for, we want to hear from you.
The Role
This is a pivotal commercial role at the core of project delivery. As a Quantity Surveyor, you will provide the cost intelligence, contractual insight, and financial control that underpin successful project execution across the full lifecycle.
From early cost planning through procurement, change management, and final account, you will ensure commercial discipline is embedded at every stage: protecting margin, managing risk, and supporting informed decision-making to deliver complex projects on time and within budget.
Responsibilities
PRE CONTRACT
Work with engineering to establish project specific SOR and Matching Measurement Preambles for new energy projects.
Establish BoAQ from current engineering info and analogue projects.
Establish commercial bid package using boqsor (OGCS’ inhouse commercial unit rate contracting platform).
POST CONTRACT
Conduct thorough measurement and evaluation of installed quantities in alignment with project plans.
Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and contractors to ensure projects adhere to budgetary constraints and comply with relevant regulations and standards.
Monitor construction progress meticulously, comparing actual progress with planned milestones.
Ensure contractual obligations are met and effectively communicate compliance status to the project team.
Facilitate and contribute to weekly and monthly project progress meetings.
Take the lead in compiling accurate figures and providing comprehensive narratives for the monthly Project Management Review (PMR) meetings.
Prepare and address any defined progress audit queries for the Auditor, ensuring transparency and accuracy in project reporting.
Experience & Skills
Bachelor's degree in a related field.
Minimum of 10+ years of proven experience in monitoring construction progress and evaluating installed quantities against project plans.
Strong understanding of contract management and compliance procedures.
Excellent communication and coordination skills, essential for supporting project progress meetings and facilitating information exchange.
Proficiency in data analysis and reporting, particularly in compiling figures and narratives for project review meetings.
Ability to effectively address audit queries and ensure compliance with established standards and procedures.
