OGCS Team Steps Up for AberNecessities at Aberdeen Kiltwalk 2026

Five members of the OGCS team will be lacing up their walking shoes and donning their tartan this weekend. It’s all in support of the Aberdeen Kiltwalk 2026 – the team is raising funds for local charity AberNecessities.

All based in OGCS’ Aberdeen office, the team is made up of Elizabeth Robertson, David Taylor, Craig Milne, Emily Sherriff, and Alan Duncan.

They  will join thousands of walkers on Sunday, 7 June 2026, to complete the challenging 18-mile Mighty Stride route, one of the flagship events of the Aberdeen Kiltwalk. The route will see participants walk from Banchory to Aberdeen, raising vital funds for charities and causes that make a difference in local communities.

The OGCS team has chosen to support AberNecessities, a charity dedicated to helping disadvantaged families across Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire. The organisation provides essential items for babies and children, helping to alleviate some of the pressures faced by families with limited resources.

The team is looking forward to taking on the challenge together while raising both funds and awareness for a charity that has a meaningful impact across the region.

"AberNecessities provides practical support to families when they need it most," said Elizabeth. "We're proud to be supporting such an important local cause and are excited to take on the Mighty Stride together. While the 18 miles will certainly be a challenge, knowing that we're helping families in our community will keep us motivated every step of the way."

The Mighty Stride is expected to test the team's endurance, determination and teamwork, but every mile completed will help support the invaluable work AberNecessities carries out for families throughout the north-east of Scotland.

The donations raised for AberNecessities will provide vital everyday items including formula milk, nappies, toiletries, clothing, cots and other essentials, ensuring children have access to the basic necessities they need to thrive.

Everyone at OGCS wishes Elizabeth, David, Craig, Emily, Alan and Paul the very best of luck as they prepare to take on the Aberdeen Kiltwalk and make a positive difference for local families.
