OGCS Annual Golf Day in Aberdeen Celebrates Connections Old and New
OGCS welcomed clients, consultants and colleagues to its annual Golf Day at Meldrum House Country Hotel & Golf Club, bringing together industry professionals for a day of networking, friendly competition and relationship building in the heart of Aberdeenshire.
While the golf itself provided plenty of memorable moments, one of the highlights came before a ball had even been struck. More than 15 years after working together on a major FPSO project for Chevron, former colleagues Kevin Leigh, Colin Jamieson, Michael Ibarra and Chris Bradshaw were reunited on the fairways of Meldrum House.
The chance reunion in the “Honorable Mention” team served as a reminder of the long-lasting relationships that define the energy industry and continue to underpin OGCS's approach to business today.
"One of the great things about events like this is reconnecting with people you've worked alongside throughout your career," said Michael Ibarra. "Projects can forge strong teams, but they can also forge strong bonds that last a lifetime."
More than thirty golfers took part in the Texas Scramble, representing a wide range of OGCS customers and partners from across the energy sector. Blessed with excellent weather and pristine course conditions, teams enjoyed a competitive round on one of Scotland's most picturesque golfing venues.
Following the golf, guests gathered for a buffet dinner and prize presentation, where awards were handed out for achievements on the course and stories from the day were shared. Sadly none of the players was able to make a hole-in-one to drive away the VW Golf on display, but everyone had fun and thoroughly enjoyed the day.
The annual event continues to be a valued opportunity for OGCS to thank clients, strengthen partnerships and create new connections, while celebrating the relationships that have been built over decades across the global energy industry.
As the reunion of former Frade colleagues demonstrated, some of the strongest professional connections can stand the test of time.
