A team from OGCS Aberdeen joined guests from across the city for the sold-out HMT 120 Gala Dinner recently, taking a full table at an evening celebrating 120 years of His Majesty’s Theatre.
The OGCS Team at the event - back row left to right are: Craig Milne, Sally Mitchell, David Taylor, Emily Sheriff, Leigh Mathieson, Greg Porter, Polly Harrison, Marta Quirke. Front row : Callan Booth, Alan Duncan.
Hosted by Aberdeen Performing Arts (APA) at the Music Hall, the gala formed part of a year-long programme marking the theatre’s 120th anniversary. The evening programme included dinner, live entertainment and a fabulous auction to raise funds. The guests were delighted to celebrate the role His Majesty’s Theatre has played in Aberdeen’s culture, along with associated venues the Lemon Tree and the Music Hall.
The OGCS team enjoyed a wonderful evening and were pleased to support APA’s HMT 120 campaign. The money raised will be invested in creative opportunities across the North-east. Funds will go to supporting programmes that reach young people and communities, developing emerging talent and helping to ensure that the arts remain accessible across the region.
A spokesperson from Aberdeen Performing Arts said:
“Through 2026, we aim to raise £120,000 as part of HMT 120 that we will invest into creative opportunities to benefit from arts and culture in the North-east.
Every gift, large or small, helps us create even more magic.
It helps us open our doors wider, tell new stories, and ensure this stage continues to belong to us all.”
For OGCS, the event was also an opportunity to support an organisation that plays an important role for the city in which the company has deep roots. The OGCS office is located in the city centre, many of our global team were originally from Aberdeen, and there is a commitment to supporting the culture of Aberdeen, as well as contributing to its economy.
His Majesty’s Theatre has hosted thousands of performances over its 120-year history and remains one of Aberdeen’s most recognisable buildings. Its anniversary year comes at an important time for the arts, with venues across the UK facing increased operating costs and pressure on public funding.
Craig Milne, Operations Manager for OGCS based in Aberdeen, commented:
“The OGCS team are passionate about supporting the city and this was an opportunity to make a contribution and raise awareness of the 120 HMT Campaign.”
OGCS is pleased to support the work being done to keep Aberdeen’s stages active, accessible and at the heart of the city for generations to come.
