Engineering SME – Power & Grid Integration Lead / Electrical Systems Lead
TX (or Project-based) | 10-15+ years
Overview
OGCS supports clients on complex energy and infrastructure projects where early technical clarity is critical to cost, schedule, and delivery confidence. As projects increasingly integrate grid-connected power, high-voltage systems, and hybrid supply models, we are seeking an experienced Engineering Subject Matter Expert (SME) to lead power and grid integration activities across the project lifecycle.
Responsibilities
Power & Electrical System Leadership
Act as technical lead for high-voltage systems, grid connection strategy, and overall electrical system architecture.
Define electrical load lists, load profiles, and demand assumptions in collaboration with process and utilities teams.
Establish and manage the split between Behind-the-Meter (BTM) and Front-of-the-Meter (FTM) power supply solutions, aligned with project and regulatory requirements.
Design Development & Technical Assurance
Review and guide electrical one-line diagrams, substation layouts, redundancy philosophies, and system configuration.
Oversee and provide technical input to main electrical studies, including load flow, fault level, and system stability analyses.
Ensure electrical design intent is consistently reflected across engineering deliverables.
Grid & External Interfaces
Lead technical engagement with grid operators and relevant authorities.
Interpret grid connection requirements and ensure they are fully incorporated into FEED scope, schedule, and cost estimates.
Support alignment between client, grid operator, and engineering disciplines.
Procurement & Execution Support
Provide technical input to procurement strategies for high-voltage packages and major electrical equipment.
Participate in vendor technical evaluations and selection processes.
Support downstream phases as required to maintain design integrity and compliance.
What We’re Looking For
Degree-qualified in Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline
Significant experience leading high-voltage and grid integration scopes on large energy, industrial, or infrastructure projects
Strong understanding of electrical system architecture, substations, and grid connection processes
Proven ability to work across disciplines and interface effectively with external stakeholders and authorities
Experience supporting FEED studies, including scope definition, cost inputs, and schedule development
Clear, confident communicator with the credibility to act as a technical authority
What We Offer
Work environment where safety is always the top priority.
Competitive base salary depending on your skills and experience.
