OGCS Guinee SARL is a consultancy company specializing in the provision of multi-disciplined Project Management Services to the Global Mining and Energy Industry.
We are seeking candidates for the position of Civils Supervisor, to join the Simandou Project in Guinea.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Civil Supervisor to join the construction team onsite at Simandou. The Civils Supervisor will ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality delivery of all civil construction activities on site — including bulk earthworks and concrete pours to drainage, roadworks, and structural installations.
Reporting to the Construction Superintendent, the Civil Supervisor will lead crews, manage subcontractor activities, and ensure all work meets the project safety, quality, and productivity standards.
Specific Responsibilities:
Safety & Compliance
Maintain a safe and productive working environment, free from undue risk, in line with site safety procedures and standards.
Proactively assess, eliminate, or reduce hazards in your area of responsibility.
Protect the health and wellbeing of all personnel under your supervision.
Oversee the correct and safe use of plant, machinery, and equipment.
Enforce housekeeping standards to keep work areas orderly and hazard-free.
Leadership & Supervision
Supervise daily civil works including earthworks, concrete, drainage, road construction, and structural installations.
Coordinate support functions to meet production and quality targets on time.
Uphold maintenance and discipline structures for all team members.
Monitor crew performance, providing guidance, training, and support to build capability and skills.
Productivity & Quality
Monitor output quality, cost, and labor requirements, adjusting resources as needed to optimize performance.
Keep accurate records and compile data for progress, production, and compliance reports.
Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with project plans, specifications, and quality standards.
Contribute to continuous improvement of supervision systems and processes.
Teamwork & Relationships
Liaise with engineering, quality, and safety teams to resolve operational issues.
Work closely with subcontractors to ensure safe, timely, and compliant execution of works.
Maintain clear communication between crews, management, and other project stakeholders.
Qualifications and Proficiencies:
5–7 years of civil construction experience, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
Prior experience in mining, infrastructure, or large-scale industrial projects (experience in Africa in remote locations highly regarded).
Strong technical understanding of bulk earthworks, concrete works, drainage, and heavy civil infrastructure.
Demonstrated leadership, team-building, and communication skills in high-intensity environments.
Familiarity with occupational health and safety legislation and mining industry best practices.

ABOUT THE SIMANDOU PROJECT
The Simandou Iron Ore Project (Blocks 3 & 4) is located in the Republic of Guinea, West Africa. It is a high-grade, world-class iron ore deposit and represents one of the largest known iron ore reserves in the world.
The Simandou South Project operates under the Simfer joint venture where the Government of Guinea holds 15%, Rio Tinto and Chinalco Iron Ore Holdings (CIOH), which hold 45.05% and 39.95% of Simandou respectively, continue to work with the Government of Guinea to explore options to develop the Simandou iron ore deposit, as well as potential mechanisms for collaboration on the infrastructure required for the development of the Project and mining operations.
